Former Premier David Ben-Gurion resumed today his long-standing effort to win support for his proposals for changes in Israel’s electoral system. He struggled unsuccessfully during his many years as Premier to bring about a Parliamentary system similar to that in Britain.
He indicated today that he plans to meet with leaders in various sectors of Israel life and to push formation of committees in many urban areas in support of his plan. He feels that Israel’s multiplicity of parties hampers governmental effectiveness.
