Former Prime Minister David Ben Gurion told an audience here yesterday that the United States admitted that it had made a mistake in forcing Israel to withdraw from the Sinai Peninsula in 1957. He said the late John Foster Dulles, then U.S. Secretary of State, had told him so eight months later. Mr. Ben Gurion said he was sure the opinion had come from then President Dwight D. Eisenhower. The former Israeli Premier spoke also on the need to advance technology so that machines could replace unskilled manpower and Israel would not depend on cheap Arab labor.
