United Nations censure of Israel alone for the raid on Syrian positions along Lake Tiberias will create a serious situation, Premier David Ben Gurion told United States Ambassador Edward B. Lawson yesterday when he received the American diplomat, it was reported here today by the Israel press.
The report added that Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett, who was also present during the meeting, stressed the seriousness of the situation which would arise if the UN Security Council condemns Israel and disregards the Syrian provocations.
In London yesterday Israel Ambassador Eliahu Elath was received at the Foreign Office where he was given a report on the two-day discussion of top British diplomats, headed by Foreign Secretary Selwyn Lloyd, and including British Ambassadors from eight Middle East countries.
