The positive aspects of the reorganization of the Jewish Agency for Israel, Inc. in New York were outlined here today by Dr. Nahum Goldmann in a report to Israel members of the Zionist Actions Committee. He cited a number of benefits foreseeable from the inclusion of wider circles in the activities and responsibilities of fund-raising for the Agency.
He also reviewed the progress of negotiations for enlargement of the World Zionist Organization by inclusion of non-Zionist organizations. He said that federations of Jewish communities in some of the most important South American countries had already agreed to Join. In the United States, he said, two of the most important Jewish organizations had accepted an invitation to send “fraternal delegations” to the next World Zionist Congress which will participate in debates but will not have voting rights.
Dr. Goldmann also reported on the results of the joint meeting of the Israel Cabinet and Jewish. Agency executive which decided to work cooperatively to strengthen the Zionist organization by widening it and by implementation of the agreement on the status of the Zionist Organization. He said a small committee of Cabinet members and members of the Jewish Agency executive had been named to formulate practical steps to implement the cooperative agreement.
