Funeral services will be held here tomorrow for Benjamin J. Bialostotzky, well-known Yiddish poet, lecturer and essayist, who died at his home yesterday, aged 69. He was the author of many volumes of poetry and essays.
Born in Lithuania, a son of the famous “Grodner Maggid,” he attended yeshivot in Lithuania and started his literary career as a contributor to Yiddish periodicals in St., Petersburg and Vilna. He studied at the University of Koenigsburg, Germany, and came to the United States in 1911. He became a member of the staff of the Jewish Daily Forward in 1922, publishing many of his writings in that newspaper for the last 40 years.
