Benjamin Tabachinsky, 71, executive secretary of the Jewish Labor Committee, died suddenly last night after a brief illness.
A native of Bialystock, Poland, he came to the U.S. in 1938 on behalf of the Central Yiddish School Organization in Poland. From 1918 to 1938, he served as a member of the Municipal Council of Bialystock.
During World War II and immediately thereafter, he served on a rescue committee which had been set up by the late American Federation of Labor president, William Green to save European labor leaders caught in the Nazi web.
