Bernard Backer, president of The Workmen’s Circle, has urged the U.S. Postal Service to boycott any commemorative stamp issued by the United Nations honoring the Palestine Liberation Organization. He sent a letter with this request to Postmaster General William Bolger following press reports that the UN Palestine Committee has decided, among other events, to issue a special stamp from the UN which, Backer noted, “the U.S. mails would then carry under international postal agreements.”
