Bernard Horwich, organizer of one of the earliest Zionist organizations in the U.S. and first president of the Federated Jewish Charities of this city, died here yesterday at the age of 89. Active in Joint Distribution Committee relief projects immediately following World War I., he also worked closely with Dr. Chaim Weizmann, Nahum Sokolow and Shmarya Levin.
