Bernard Lekash, who is in the Ukraine on behalf of the Schwartzbard Defense Committee of Paris, visited Cherson, Odessa, Kiev Zhitomir, Rostoff, Proskuroff and a number of small towns in the Ukraine, investigating the records of the pogrom period.
M. Lekash has interviewed hundreds of pogrom victims and collected much material concerning Petlura’s part in the pogroms and those who financed him. M. Lekash has directed particular inquiry into the attitude of the French commanding staff which was stationed in the Ukraine at the time of the pogrom period. He will also visit the Jewish colonies in the Ukraine.
