The article by Dr. George Bernhard, German journalist now in exile, which appeared in last Sunday’s issue of the Jewish Daily Bulletin of New York, demanding that Germany be forced to pay reparations to Jews for property the Nazis have confiscated, stolen or destroyed, still continues to provoke great public indignation. Yesterday’s Voelkischer Beobachter declared that Dr. Bernhard’s article not only is an insult to Germany but proves that anti-German propaganda abroad has not been stopped by Germans who fled from their fatherland.
The Vossische Zeitung, of which Dr. Bernhard was formerly chief edotor, advised German emigrants editorially to abstain from taking part in anti-German politics.
