A bill outlawing anti-Semitic propaganda and other forms of anti-Jewish agitation in Sweden was presented to the Riksdag today by the Social-Democratic deputy M. Brandt. It was endorsed by several other members.
Mr. Brandt declared that public opinion supported his demand, citing the adverse comment in the liberal press regarding the distribution in recent weeks of the anti-Semitic newspaper “Hammaren.” The Arbetaren, a labor daily, stated today that it is probable that Swedish publishers and newspaper distributors will soon put a stop to distribution of the anti-Jewish publication.”
The Swedish press today publishes the text of a Norwegian decree signed by the Quisling Minister of Finance Prytz, which provides that apartments owned by Jews will be administered by the Finance Department while apartments leased by Jews will be handled by the Liquidation Board which is in charge of property confiscated from Jews.
