Plans for the celebration of Dr. Chaim Zhitlowsky’s seventieth birthday on May 11 with an affair at the New York Coliseum have been discussed by several hundred delegates of Jewish organizations, labor unions and schools at a conference at Irving Plaza Hall.
A committee to raise $50,000 to publish all works of the noted writer was formed. Included among the speakers were S. Niger, J. Baskin, J. Siegel, J. Schlossberg, M. Finestone, H. Ehrenreich and M. Elkin. David Pinski presided.
