The twenty-fifth anniversary campaign of the Brooklyn Federation of Jewish Charities will formally open Wednesday night, March 14, when a dinner for volunteer workers and leaders in the community will be held at the Brooklyn Jewish Center, 667 Eastern Parkway.
County Judge Algeron I. Nova, chairman of the drive, said that the $500,000 sought in the campaign is needed to meet the minimum requirements of the twenty-five constituent agencies of the Federation. “Especially in view of rising commodity prices our agencies will need more money in 1934 than they required in 1933 even if the amount of service rendered is not increased. It goes without saying, however, that the appeals for help are still mounting and a real effort must be made to meet at least a portion of the increased demand for service.”
