Jacob Blaustein, American Jewish leader, will be given the Herbert Lehman Israel Award at a dinner Dec. 22. The award, a plaque especially designed by a noted sculptor, Chaim Gross, expresses the spirit of friendship and cooperation between America and Israel and the participation of American Jewry in the development of Israel through the Israel bond program, of which the late Gov. Lehman was a distinguished supporter and leader.
Simultaneously it was announced today that Mr. Blaustein has been elected by the trustees of Columbia University to serve a three-year term on Columbia’s Advisory Council of the School of International Affairs. The Council consists of a distinguished group of individuals interested in and knowledgeable about foreign affairs, and devoted to the cause of furthering international cooperation.
