Maurice Bloch, minority leader of the New York State Assembly, will give a dinner tonight at the New York Turn Verein to members in the metropolitan zone of District No. 1. Independent Order B’nai B’rith, of which he is president. The dinner is being given in appreciation for the cooperation extended to him in the two years he has served as president.
On the eve of the expiration of his term of office, which will culminate at the annual convention of the District in Buffalo on May 12 and 13, Assemblyman Bloch is engaged in an intensive membership campaign throughout the District, comprising the lodges in the states of Maine. New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York. The goal of the drive is that every delegate attending the convention, of whom there are 150, bring the names of three prospective members.
