Acting on the results of a referendum taken by mail, District Grand Lodge No. 6 of B’nai B’rith, comprising 190 local lodges and 51,000 members in eight mid-western states and part of Western Canada, today announced cancellation of its three-day annual convention which was scheduled to open on July 2 here. The step was “motivated by a parasitic desire to speed up our war effort,” the announcement said. A War Emergency meeting of the executive committee will be held in lieu of the contemplated convention.
