A four-day annual convention of the B’nai B’rith Girls Organization opened here today with 100 delegates from all parts of the country attending. The convention which is taking place at the University of Illinois, will be addressed by government representatives.
J.J. Lieberman of Los Angeles, national chairman of the B’nai B’rith Youth Commission, addressing the first plenary session, said that the leaders of the B’nai B’rith believe that their organization “serves a vital purpose in integrating the Jew into the life of his country and in contributing to the welfare of the Jewish people and to the perpetuation and improvement of Jewish life.”
Peter K. Rosedale, of Granston, R.I., was elected national president of Aleph Zadik Aleph, the B’nai B’rith youth organization, at the annual convention of the organization which concluded here yesterday.
