David M. Blumberg, president of B’nai B’rith, said here that his organization in the United States will exert pressure through the many lodges and contacts on Congressmen, Senators and the Administration should there be an erosion in America’s political attitude toward Israel Blumberg, who addressed a press conference on the eve of B’nai B’rith’s triennial convention in Jerusalem, described how his group and the Anti-Defamation League have been spearheading the campaign against the UN General Assembly’s invitation to the Palestine Liberation Organization.
He also reported on ADL’s legal effort to have the Palestinian delegates’ movements restricted while they are in the U.S. for the Assembly debate on the Palestine issue. Some 1000 delegates from 38 countries are expected to participate in the eight-day convention starting tomorrow which will focus on how best diaspora Jews can aid Israel.
