Regret over the invitation extended to General Haller of Poland to visit Boston is expressed in a resolution adopted by the Amos Lodge and auxiliary of the Independent Order Bnai Brith, with a membership of 1500 and composed of some of the leading Jews of Boston.
The resolution was arrived at the meeting last night by Robert Silverman who is Secretary of the Jewish Congress Committee of Boston. The resolution reads:
“The Amos Lodge expresses its regret that General Joseph Haller has been invited to Boston. We feel certain that had the blood-stained record of General Haller’s troops been known the invitation to General Haller to represent Poland would never have been extended”.
Copies of the resolution were sent to President Coolidge, Governor Cox and Mayor Curley of Boston. Only a few Jews opposed this action, from which it appears that the Jewish stand against Haller is not divided.
