B’nai B’rith announced publication today of a portfolio of historic letters and documents titled “Lincoln and The Jews,” which features facsimiles of seven items relating to the Civil War president’s relations with the Jewish community of his time.
The project “seeks through historic memorabilia to bring to public attention the role Jews have played in American life,” said Philip D. Sang of Chicago, acting chairman of the B’nai B’rith Jewish Historical Committee.
