A five-day triennial convention of the British will open here Saturday evening with more than 1,000 delegates and guests from the 48 states, Canada and several foreign nations in attendance. The delegates will represent 380,000 members of the organization, which has 1,600 units in the United States.
One of the highlights of the convention will be the presentation by E. Rowland Harriman, president of the American National Red Cross, of a special citation to the British for its leadership and outstanding. contributions to the nationwide blood donor campaign. The American Heritage Foundation will present a prize to the organization for maintaining the most intensive and effective "register-and-vote campaign" during the recent national elections.
Mrs. Eisenhower will hold a reception at the White House, during the convention, for delegates to the Women’s Supreme Council of British and for 200 wives of delegates.
