Establishment of a joint secretariat by the board of Deputies of British Jews, the American Jewish Conference, and the World Jewish Congress was approved today at a meeting here of the Board. The deputies also voted to coordinate their activities on war crimes and reparations with the Jewish Agency, as well as the Congress and the Conference.
Referring to the recent anti-Jewish disturbances in Argentina in connection with the return of Col. Juan Peron, Prof. Selig Brodetsky, president of the board, said that he would take “immediate and appropriate action,” perhaps in conjunction with the American Jewish Conference and the World Jewish Congress.
After hearing a report by the Board’s Palestine Committee on its recent activities, which included sending a memorandum on Palestine immigration to all members of the House of Commons and selected members of the House of Lords, the deputies adopted a resolution expressing regret that Prime Minister Attlee has not yet seen fit to receive a delegation of the Board to discuss the Palestine question
