An inquiry into charges of anti-Semitic discrimination in appointments and promotions in the department of Romance Languages at City College was voted unanimously last night by the New York City Board of Higher Education.
The charges were made last year by four members of the department. A faculty board investigated and decided that no evidence supporting the charges raised. A committee of three of the Board of Higher Education will be appointed today by Ordway Tead, chairmen of the board. The board also released a statement adopted by members of the department of Romance Languages which expressed confidence in its head, and condemned the charges of anti-Semitism.
