The annual meeting of the board of directors of the National Council of Jewish Women opened here yesterday at the Essex House with forty-five women from all sections of the country in attendance. Mrs. Maurice L. Goldman of San Francisco, national president of the Council, announced that the board’s sessions would be devoted to discussing the role that the Council has played and can play in the war effort.
