A detailed report received here today by Dr. Joseph Grutzendler, Jewish Telegraphic Agency correspondent in Bogota who is now visiting the United States, reveals that the extent of property damage suffered by the Jewish community in the Colombian capital during the recent anti-government demonstrations was not $500,000, as reported last month, but $3,500,000.
Dr. Grutzendler reported that relief measures are currently being extended the Colombian Jewish community by the local Joint distribution Committee office, under the direction of Ben Zion Halevy, head of the J.D.C. operations in Latin American. An emergency aid committee set up by Dr. Maxim Yagupsky, of the American Grutzendler said.
