Dr. Paz Estensoro, the new President of Bolivia, is going to send a delegation of Bolivian experts to Israel to discuss with the Israeli Government proposals for technical assistance laid before him by Israel’s Ambassador here, Dr. Michael Simon, according to an announcement by Dr. Simon today.
Dr. Simon proposed to President Estensoro that Israel could help Bolivia with technical assistance on forestation in the Altiplano region, establishment of agricultural cooperatives, development of artificial lakes for fish breeding, and colonization and development of frontier regions by the Bolivian Army. After a Bolivian team has visited Israel, an Israeli group of experts in the various fields will come here, Dr. Simon said.
Dr. Simon, who is also Israel’s . Ambassador to Peru, left for Lima today, after meeting with other government officials and with representatives of the Jewish community. He expressed gratification at finding in this country appreciation and admiration of Israel’s achievements.
