In an impressive ceremony presided over by President Victor Paz Estenssoro, the Bolivian government has awarded its highest national decoration to the umbrella organization of the nation’s Jewish community, the World Jewish Congress reported here.
The award, the Condor of the Andes, was given in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Circulo Israelita de la Paz, the representative body of Bolivian Jewry and the WJC affiliate here.
