“The War and the Jew,” a book by Vladimir Jabotinsky, founder and leader of the New Zionist Organization who died in the United States during 1940 while here in connection with a project to raise a Jewish Army to fight side by side with the United Nations, was published here today.
Written by the late Zionist leader shortly before his sudden death, the book presents Jabotinsky’s views on Jewish war-time and post-war problems, including the Arab-Jewish problem, the post-war status of Palestine, as well as on projects to settle Jews outside Palestine. The volume is published by the Dial Press.
Col. Jolin Henry Patterson, writing the conclusion to the book, points out that “the Jewish people – and, for that matter, the true England – are under heavy debt to Vladimir Jabotinsky, undaunted and gallant fighter for justice and right. At this vital moment in Jewish history, when all Jewry is tossing on a stormy sea, Jabotinsky’s prophetic courage is sadly missing.” The book also carries a foreword by Pierre van Paassen.
