A book of short stories about Israel has been published in the Czech language in Prague. The author, Mendal Mann, who resides here, told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that arrangements for publication of his book “The House Among The Thorns” were made during the Dubcek regime prior to the Soviet occupation. Nevertheless, Prague has now published 150,000 copies of a translation by Camilia Juridokova.
Mr. Mann, 53, has written 16 novels, “The House Among The Thorns” contains stories about pioneering in the Negev and Israel’s 1948 War for Independence.
