Appointment of Louis J. Borinstein, president of the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce, as a member of the advisory committee of the National Rivers and Harbors Congress, has been announced here.
Mr. Borinstein, president of A. Borinstein Company, one of the largest scrap material concerns in the country, is active in Jewish social and welfare work and is prominent in the city’s civic enterprises as well. He is president of the Indianapolis Hebrew congregation and is a director of the Jewish Orphans’ Home in Cleveland. He was born here in 1881.
Born in Indianapolis, December 29, 1881, he has spent virtually all his life here, receiving his education in local schools. Active supporter of welfare and educational organizations in Indianapolis he is also a director of the Jewish Orphans’ home, Cleveland, and of the National Hospital for Consumptives.
