The investigation instituted by Governor Saltonstall of anti-Semitism in various sections of Boston will be extended soon to other cities in Massachusetts, it was learned here today following a conference of Boston Jewish leaders with the governor.
Dissatisfaction with the composition of the five-man committee appointed by Gov. Saltonstall to advise him on measures to stamp out attacks by hoodlums on Jews was expressed here today by State Senator Murray Goldman, who represents the Dorchester and Roxbury sections where the worst anti-Jewish terror has occurred. The senator complained that the committee is not representative of his constituents, including 100,000 Jews.
The five-man committee is composed of prominent Bostonians representing the Protestant, Catholic and Jewish faiths. Its members are: Judges Harold P. Williams and Abraham L. Pinansky of the Supreme Court; Judge Jacob J. Kaplan, retired special justice in the Roxbury district court; Rabbi Joshua L. Liebman and Rev. Robert P. Barry, Catholic pastor.
