A great gathering of over 1,500 Jews, among them the most prominent in the community, were present yesterday at the largest charity mass meeting ever held in Boston to hear the appeal of the Associated Jewish Philanthropies on behalf of its $900,000 campaign. The meeting also marked the introduction to the Jewish community of Dr. Ben M. Selekman, the new director of the Federated Jewish Charities. Among the speakers were the Hon. Abraham C. Ratshesky. Eddie Cantor and Louis E. Kirstein. A large number of volunteer workers answered the call of Sidney Dreyfus, chairman of the drive.
