For the first time in the history of Boston University, joint Chanukah-Christmas festivities were held in the University Chapel, while the main plaza of the University was decorated with a huge Christmas tree and a 10-foot high brass menorah.
The joint Chanukah-Christmas Sing was arranged by the Boston University Brotherhood Council. Words to all songs were flashed on a large screen for all to see as choral groups of Boston University sang Christmas carols and Chanukah songs which included “Mooz Tsur,” “Al Hanissim” and “Mi Y’Mallel.” Mark Finer, chairman of the Hillel dramatics committee, read the story of Chanukah.
