Four teen-age boys today confessed that they had smashed 152 windows in 16 Jewish-owned unoccupied homes in Barrington, a beach and summer resort near here. One of the boys also told police that he had scrawled the words “Jew” and “Kike” on the front door of a house in the same area.
Three of the vandals are 13 years old, while the fourth is 16. All of them told police that they had not been encouraged by any adults. The window-smashing followed by several weeks the appearance of a swastika and the word “Hitler” on a road in Barrington.
