A 132-page memorial volume entitled “Mr. Justice Brandeis: Great American–Press Opinion And Public Appraisal”, which contains articles, editorials and columns from over 100 daily newspapers and many weekly religious, professional and labor publications throughout the country on the late Justice Louis D. Brandeis was published here this week under the sponsorship of the Louis D. Brandeis B’nai B’rith Lodge. This B’nai B’rith unit took the name of Justice Brandeis two years ago with his permission.
The memorial collection was assembled by Irving Dilliard of the editorial staff of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, who, in an editorial foreword, recounts the four-month fight in 1916 on Woodrow Wilson’s nomination of Brandeis for the Supreme Court.
