Brandeis University is establishing what it believes is the first Israel Studies chair in the United States. The endowed faculty position, which was established with a donation from Karl, Harry and Helen Stoll of Long Island, N.Y., aims to “develop an accurate historical understanding of the origin and development of the state of Israel,” according to Brandeis officials.
