A delegation representing the Confederation of Brazilian Jewish Communities visited the Polish Embassy today to protest against arrangements made by the Polish Government for the memorial observances at the site of the Auschwitz death camp.
The delegation complained that the date set for inaugurating the Jewish memorial pavilion — April 20 — fell on the Jewish Sabbath and Passover. The delegation also pointed out that facilities had not been indicated for Jewish organizations and representatives wishing to attend the dedication services. It urged postponement of the inauguration of the pavilion until next year. The charge d’affaires, who received the delegation, promised to transmit its views to Warsaw.
