Brazil’s Entry Law Favors Farmers

According to a New York Times despatch from Rio de Janeiro, the new Brazilian immigration law setting up rules for the entry of foreigners places agrarian immigration on the preferred list. Article 2 of the law gives the government power to limit or suspend the entry of immigrants “of given races or origins.” However, an official spokesman explained that that applies to any race and is definitely a prerogative of the government.
