Ground for the new million dollar sanatorium of the Deborah Jewish Consumptive Relief Society at Browns Mills, N. J., was broken Sunday afternoon. Rabbi Hyman Brodsky of Newark, offered the prayer. The speakers included Philip J. Schotland of Newark, vice-chairman of the board of directors, and Dr. Louis J. Harris, chairman of the board of directors and former Health Commissioner of New York and Judge Jacob Panken of New York.
Checks totaling $25,000 were received from various communities in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, bringing the total raised to more than $250,000.
