A gift of $10,000 by Henry A. Dix to the building fund of the Beth Abraham Home for Incurables. Alierton Avenue and Broax Park Ease has been announced by the officers of that institution. Mr. Dix who turned over his manufacturing plant to his employees two years ago is treasurer of the Beth Abraham Building Fund. The comer-stone for the new building, a four-story, modern, fireproof structure on the Allerton Avenue property of the institution will be laid on Sunday, November 2nd.
Brooklyn will be honored next Monday evening. November 3rd with the presence of Thomas R. Marshall. twenty-eighth Vice-President of the United States who is to speak before the Forum of the Brooklyn Jewish Center, 667 Eastern Parkway.
Dr. David Israel Macht. lecturer on pharmacology at the Johns Hopkins Medical School, is a patient at the Hebrew Hospital in Baltimore suffering from a nervous breakdown. Dr. Macht’s recent discoveries in substitutes for habit forming opiates have brought him tributes from all parts of the world.
