The British Government refused today to be pinned down on its attitude toward Israel’s presence at the forthcoming Security Council summit session on the Middle East.
Replying to Laborite questions, Commander A.H.P. Noble, government spokesman on foreign affairs in Commons, said: “It is up to the Security Council, within the United Nations machinery, to decide” what countries should participate.
