Air Raid Precautions Warden Emmanuel Morris today was awarded the Order of the British Empire for extraordinary service during an air raid. He saved four women pinned under heavy beams in a communal shelter in Hackney, above which a five-story building had been demolished by a high explosive bomb. Morris worked in the rising water rushing from a broken main until the water reached his neck and then was dragged out by helpers.
