Britain today lifted the ban on travel to Israel, and British travelers were told that it was once again safe to visit the Jewish State. Since the beginning of the Sinal and Suez operations all Britons going abroad have been warned against visiting most Middle East countries, except for “essential purposes.” Today, the Passport Office removed Israel from that list.
