The British Government wants the Palestine problem settled and is prepared to play a role in seeking a solution, Alan Noble, newly appointed Minister of State for Foreign Affairs told the House of Commons today.
The British Government would like to see the Palestine problem settled on the basis of justice, Mr. Noble added. Satisfactory borders and a solution of the Arab refugee problem are two major aspects of any such settlement, he asserted.
Meanwhile, A. D. Dodds-Parker, Foreign Under Secretary, refused to give any information about the quantity of arms Britain had supplied to Egypt in advance of the Anglo-French attack on the Arab country. He was asked whether an Israeli list of such arms published last July was true, but refused to affirm or deny its truth.
