Britain’s Chief Rabbi did not receive an invitation to the royal wedding and Lilian Susman of Manchester wrote the Queen to complain about the snub. On behalf of the Queen’s private secretary, John Fitmin explained that the Prince of Wale had selected the clergymen who will take part in the service July 29 “and others who are to robe and process and sit in the sanctuary.” Fitmin said he was sorry to send Ms. Susman “this disappointing reply.”
