Warning that the United States Near East policy of sending weapons to the Arab states is placing an armed ring of unfriendly nations around Israel. ### L. Hodes, grand master of Brith Abraham, fraternal group decried the United States action as “unjust because it is evident that the Arab countries will use these weapons in an effort to subjugate and destroy Israel.”
Speaking before 800 delegates representing 310 lodges of the fraternal order attending the 68th annual four-day convention here, Mr. Hodes called today upon President Eisenhower to change the government’s policy on shipping arms to the Arab states. Gov. Robert B. Meyner of New Jersey was one of the featured speakers at the day’s session.
