An exhibition of 40 years of Mare Chagall’s works opened here today in the Tate Gallery, national gallery of British art, under the auspices of the British Art Council, a government-sponsored group.
This is the first time such an exhibition has been arranged for a Jewish painter. A number of Chagall’s works have been assembled here for the Showing from museums in all parts of the world.
