The British Cabinet, it was understood today, is gravely perturbed by news from Palestine showing serious deterioration of the military situation, and is fearful that the situation may get out of hand, resulting in increased losses being sustained by troops in Palestine.
An important decision was understood to be pending. The question of proclaiming martial law and handing over the complete administration of the country to the military authorities was under discussion. An official announcement was expected tonight or tomorrow that another division of troops would be sent to Palestine to liquidate the Arab rebellion.
