British delegates to the International high Frequency Radio Conference here today expressed opposition to the seating of Zvi Priher, Director-General of Posts, Telegraph, Telephone and Radio of the Israeli Government, who is here to attend the parley. The Soviet delegates demanded that the Israeli envoy be permitted to attend. A decision by the credentials committee may be reached tomorrow.
At the opening session of the Conference, a leading British delegate stated that “Israel cannot be considered a state, neither from a de facto or a de jure” viewpoint and categorically demanded that Prihar be barred from the meeting.
A reception in honor of Mr. Prihar was arranged last night by the Zionist Organization of Mexico. Other Zionist groups are planning to arrange similar receptions for him. Postal and cable communications between Israel and Mexico are now entirely normal, it was reported here.
