The Foreign Secretary will be asked to reply tomorrow in the House of Commons to a request that he instruct the British Ambassador at Washington “to report the representations received from persons or associations in the U.S.A. on the subject of the Mid-Ocean Club in Bermuda in connection with the proposed visit of the Prime Minister, and on the replies which have been made to such representations.”

The question was placed on the Commons order paper by Ian Mikardo, Labor MP., who first challenged holding of the Big Three conference at the Mid-Ocean Club on the grounds that the club practiced a policy of discrimination against Jews.

Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill reported to the House that he had received assurances that no discrimination was practiced at the hotel. In Washington, Presidential Press Secretary James Hagerty told newsmen that the White House was satisfied with the Prime Minister’s assurances.
